Charles William Lindsey, 80, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Hospice Savannah, Inc. surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Effingham County, son of the late Harry B. and Ivie Boaen Lindsey. He was a graduate of Guyton High School and retired in 1987 from the Chatham County Health Department. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple and a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Gloria Meeks Lindsey of Savannah; two daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne L. and Tim Taylor of Savannah; Stacy L. and Terry Vickers of Savannah; brother, Harry E. Lindsey of Springfield, GA; sisters, Ruby L. Smith of Rogers, AR; Louise L. Yarbrough of Marlow, GA; Peggy L. Denney of Swainsboro, GA; Penny L. Miller of Marietta, GA; grandsons, Jackson and Joseph Taylor and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2012 at Fox & Weeks Funereal Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.
Burial: Hillcrest Abbey West
